Transition Year students recently took part in a workshop with Carlow Enterprise Board as part of the students enterprise programme. The mini companies are now at the production and sales stage with strong sales recorded to date. The competition compliments the schools business studies curriculum and is a rewarding experience for our transition year students, who have that bit more freedom to develop their business concepts to the fullest.
The Student Enterprise Programme is the biggest enterprise competition for students in Ireland. It helps our students to grasp real life skills associated with running a real enterprise including working as part of a team, managing production and finances, organising a sales and marketing campaign and liaising directly with customers, judges and the media.
Muine Bheag Vocational School has, for many years, promoted enterprise to students in such a relevant fashion in order to help to create more local entrepreneurs in the future.
